Rosemary T. Goodyear, EdD, RNC, FNP, FAANP

Dr. Rosemary Goodyear received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of San Diego and is the past owner of a private Family Nurse Practitioner practice in southern California. Her career of extensive teaching experience and clinical practice has spanned over 40 years. Twenty-five years have been committed to the development and implementation of nurse practitioner/advanced practice nurse education at four institutions. She has served as program coordinator, mentor, an accreditation visitor, program evaluator, researcher, practice innovator, clinic director and entrepreneur both nationally and internationally. As a Fulbright Scholar and visiting professor she has consulted on nursing curricula, facilitated curricular changes and taught in the countries of England, Germany and Malta. She has authored several chapters on health policy and its influence on the delivery of health care.

Rita Snyder, PhD, RN, CNAA, BC, Health Services Informaticist

Dr. Snyder received her doctorate in administration and nursing from the University of Arizona and completed a National Library of Medicine (NLM) Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Informatics in the Division of Health Computer Sciences at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has dual certification from the American Nurses' Association as an Informatics Nurse Specialist and in nursing administration at the advanced level. She has practiced in diverse health care organizations and university settings in clinical, administrative, consultant, researcher and faculty roles where she has been involved in a wide variety of organizational change and innovation activities. She has extensive teaching experience in both service and academic settings where she has taught staff development, continuing education, and graduate-level university courses in the areas of administration, health care systems, informatics, and research.

Dr. Snyder is a health services informaticist with a practice focus on healthcare information management processes, and technology transfer. She has an ongoing research program on healthcare information technology/systems implementation with an emphasis on medication safety technology/systems.

Dr. Snyder is a member of various professional associations including the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society (STTI), and the American Nurses' Association (ANA). She is a reviewer for professional journals, including: CIN: Computers, Informatics, Nursing; Journal of Nursing Measurement; and Research in Nursing & Health, and has published extensively in journals such as:

Barbara Sheer DNSc, FNP-C, FAANP

Dr. Sheer holds a doctorate from Widener University in nursing education, a MSN with a concentration as family nurse practitioner from the State University of New York (SUNY) Binghamton, a pediatric nurse practitioner certificate from Rutgers School of Medicine and College of Nursing, and a BSN from the University of Pennsylvania.

She developed the undergraduate nursing program at the University of Scranton and the nurse practitioner and combined nurse practitioner/ clinical nurse specialist programs at the University of Delaware. She has been an educator / consultant in nursing education and curriculum development for over 20 years, and has consulted with nurse practitioner programs nationally and internationally. She is nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner by AANP and ANCC and is a partner in Nurse Practitioner InterNational Consultants (NPINC).

Dr Sheer has been actively involved in the nurse practitioner movement for the past 30 years and has held regional, state, and national positions in nurse practitioner organizations. Among the positions were the President of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Chair of the National Alliance of Nurse Practitioners and Chair of the Fellows of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She was the US representative in planning for the 1st international nurse practitioner conference in London.

As a former Public Health Policy Fellow she continues to work with multidisciplinary groups to forward the primary care agenda. Currently she serves as the chair of the Communications Subcommittee of the ICN International Nurse Practitioner Advanced Practice Nursing Network.

Debbie Vincent, PhD
 

Deborah Vincent, Ph.D., RNC, ANP

Dr. Vincent received her doctorate in nursing from the University of Michigan and is certified by the American Nurses Association as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She has practiced in diverse primary care and health care settings including private practice, managed care, and home care. She has taught in two universities and a family residency program. Her teaching experience includes using a variety of delivery modalities including interactive television, on-line, and traditional classroom. Dr. Vincent has extensive health policy experience at the state and local level. She has served as a health policy intern for a state legislator, has been president of a state nurse practitioner organization and has co-authored successful legislation that improved access to health care.

Dr. Vincent has published on cost and quality outcomes of advanced practice nurses and the implications for health policy. Her research interests include cost and quality outcomes in primary care with an emphasis on cost-analysis methods. She used cost-analysis in examining cost as an outcome in academic based nurse-managed centers. Dr. Vincent is an active member of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, American Academy of Health Services Research (need exact title), and Sigma Theta Tau currently a reviewer for the Nurse Practitioner Journal.
